  • Pigeons of Venice  explores the ongoing issues that revolve around the staggering amount of pigeons and seagulls that currently reside all around Venice. The population in Venice in 2008 was 60,000 people compared to the 130,000 birds that fly through the city daily. In Saint Marks Square was possible to sell food to feed the birds as a tourist attraction, but due to the bird population exploding, this has now become illegal. Due to the constant contact with people, the birds have became very friendly: They sit on tourists shoulders and steal their lunch.
